Privacy Policy

Effective June 27, 2026

Bright Tails Pet Training (“Bright Tails,” “we,” “us”) operates the Bright Tails client and staff portal at app.brighttailspets.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account or are invited to the portal, we collect information such as your name, email address, phone number, and account role (for example, client, trainer, rescue partner, or administrator).

Pet and training information. Clients and rescue partners may provide pet profiles, training goals, lesson notes, homework, booking details, and related records needed to deliver services.

Payment information. When you purchase packages, events, or sponsorships, payment processing is handled by Stripe. We receive transaction metadata (such as amount, status, and receipt details) but do not store full card numbers on our servers.

Communications. Messages sent through the portal, support requests, and service-related emails are stored so we can respond and maintain a record of your training relationship with us.

Marketing and lead forms. If you submit a form on our get-started flows (for example, consultation or package inquiries), we collect the information you provide. We may use Google reCAPTCHA to help prevent spam and abuse.

Usage data. We may collect standard log and device information (such as browser type, pages visited, and approximate location derived from IP address) to operate and secure the portal. If enabled, we use Google Analytics to understand how the portal is used.

How we use information

We use the information above to:

  • Provide training, pet care coordination, and rescue partner services
  • Schedule and manage appointments, lessons, and events
  • Send transactional notifications (confirmations, reminders, account messages)
  • Process payments and maintain purchase records
  • Operate rescue credit, sponsorship, and impact reporting features
  • Improve portal reliability, security, and user experience
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us run the portal (described below) or when required by law.

Google Calendar (trainers and staff only)

Bright Tails offers an optional Google Calendar connection for trainers and internal staff only. Clients and rescue partners are not asked to connect Google accounts.

When a trainer chooses to connect Google Calendar, we request access to:

  • Calendar availability (read-only) — to read busy times from calendars the trainer can access, so we can block booking slots and avoid double-booking
  • Calendar events — to create, update, and delete Bright Tails appointment events on the calendar the trainer selects

We do not use Google Calendar data for advertising. OAuth tokens are stored encrypted in our database. A trainer can disconnect Google Calendar at any time from their trainer settings in the portal, which stops future sync and removes stored tokens.

Google's use of data received through Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Third-party services

We use trusted providers to operate the portal, including:

  • Supabase — authentication and database hosting
  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Google — optional Calendar sync for trainers; reCAPTCHA on public forms; optional Analytics
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • Vercel — application hosting

These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies and contractual safeguards.

Data retention

We retain account and service records for as long as your relationship with Bright Tails is active and as needed to provide services, resolve disputes, and meet legal or accounting requirements. When you request account closure, we delete or anonymize personal information where feasible, except where retention is required by law or legitimate business needs (such as completed payment records).

Your choices

You may update profile and pet information in the portal. You can opt out of non-essential emails through notification preferences where available. Trainers may disconnect Google Calendar from trainer settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact us using the information below.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit and at rest, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and encrypted storage for sensitive integrations such as Google OAuth tokens. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use a strong, unique password for your account.

Children

The portal is intended for adults managing pet training and care accounts. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the effective date above. Continued use of the portal after changes means you accept the updated policy.
